Commercial Recycling

Recycling Dumpster

Recycling is just as important at the workplace as it is at home. We are dedicated to helping businesses throughout eastern South Dakota become more environmentally conscious.

Our commercial recycling service is available Monday - Friday for businesses in the Sioux Falls and surrounding areas; recycling is picked up as often as you need. As a commercial business, you are required to sort recyclables and place them in separate containers.

For all of your commercial recycling needs, contact us today.

Commercial recyclables include:

White Paper
Office and computer paper, junk mail, greeting cards and sticky notes are acceptable paper items.

Metals
In general, rinse out metal cans to eliminate odor and bacteria in your container. Don't worry about the labels. Flatten the cans if you need to make more space.

Aluminum and tin cans
Aluminum and tin cans are not allowed in the landfill. Tin cans, which actually are steel cans, include soup, sardine and coffee cans. Aluminum and tin can be mixed with plastics in one cart.

Plastics
The Sioux Falls city ordinance does not allow plastics #1-7 in the landfill. The number of the plastic is usually stamped on the bottom of the containers. These containers include milk jugs, butter and margarine containers, pop and water bottles, and detergent bottles. These may be mixed in with tin and aluminum cans.

Plastic Grocery Bags
These and other plastic bags can be placed with your plastic bottles, tin and aluminum cans.

Newspaper
Papers, including glossy inserts, are not allowed in the landfill. Novak Sanitary Service will pick them up for recycling.

Magazines
Magazines and catalogs may be mixed with newspapers.

Phone Books
Phonebooks may be recycled and mixed with newspapers and magazines.

Cardboard
Cardboard is another item banned from the landfill and one that often clutters the offices and loading docks of commercial businesses. Corrugated cardboard, such as moving boxes, has ripples in-between the layers of the box.
